My journey with Capoeira began in 2003 when I started practicing with the Abadá Capoeira group, under the guidance of Mestre Nego Duro (currently Império Vivo). Over the years, Capoeira became much more than just a sport for me—it evolved into a life philosophy, one that teaches resilience, respect, and unity, along with a rich culture.
Since 2022, I have been part of the group No Gueto Que Tem Dendê, led by Contramestre Dentinho Baiano. This new phase has been extremely enriching, both in technical and philosophical aspects. The group brings with it the essence of Capoeira, valuing freedom, creativity, and the true spirit of the fight, always with a focus on positive transformation and the strengthening of communities.
Capoeira has been fundamental in my life, not only as a martial art but also as a way for me to connect with Afro-Brazilian culture and with the people around me. It has taught me the importance of discipline, mutual respect, and how music and movement can be powerful tools for expression and social transformation.
